On 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Information on websites maintained by Parks Australia will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the conclusion of the caretaker period.

Summary

Parks Australia staff conducted rapid island health assessments using the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships Island Watch Tool on 16 central and southern islets and cays in the Coral Sea Marine Park in February-March 2022.

The island health assessment was conducted as part of a larger James Cook University led Coral Sea Coral Reef Health Monitoring Project.
