Consultation on the Draft South-east Marine Parks Network Management Plan has closed and the new Management Plan is being finalised.

Transitional management arrangements apply in Macquarie Island Marine Park and the other 13 marine parks of the South-east Marine Parks Network until a new management plan for the Network is finalised and comes into effect. Management plans set out our approach to managing marine parks. There are six management plans, one for each of the five marine park networks (the North, North-west, South-west, South-east and Temperate East networks) and one for the Coral Sea Marine Park. Management plans for the Christmas Island Marine Park and Cocos (Keeling) Islands Marine Parks are also being developed.
