Our Marine Parks Grants

The 'Our Marine Parks Grants Program' has made a combined investment of $28.2 million across 4 rounds, supporting 91 projects to deliver some outstanding marine conservation outcomes.

Australia boasts one of the largest representative networks of marine parks in the world, with 60 Australian Marine Parks around the Australian coastline, protecting our offshore marine environment. Australian Marine Parks are places of exceptional biodiversity and cultural value. They are also places of recreation and support the livelihoods of Australians through the tourism and fishing sectors.

The Our Marine Parks Grant Program is investing in the long-term health of Australia's Marine Parks, providing opportunities for regional communities, First Nations organisations, the tourism sector, scientists, recreational and commercial fishing and the seafood industry to:

  • increase engagement in the management of Australian Marine Parks
  • support pathways for First Nations people to manage their traditional land and Sea Country
  • improve sustainability in fishing practices to support the objectives of Australian Marine Parks management plans
  • undertake practical and innovative activities that support and improve park management and conserve and protect marine species and habitats
  • improve knowledge and understanding of Australian Marine Parks.

Our Marine Park Grants Round Five

Our Marine Parks Grants is now open for applications and will close on 27 October 2026.

Round Five of the grant program will deliver $5.6 million to engage Australian marine park users - building their capacity to actively participate in managing Australian Marine Parks. It will support collaborative efforts that protect biodiversity, enhance ecosystem health, and strengthen culturally informed stewardship of our marine environment.

  • The Our Marine Parks Round 5 grant opportunity will be administered by the Community Grants Hub through GO8558: GrantConnect, the Australian Government’s centralised grants information system.

Free application support for Our marine Parks Grants Round 5

Free support is available to help you prepare an application for Our Marine Parks Grants Round 5.

Parks Australia has engaged Remote Strategy Plus, a majority Aboriginal owned consultancy, to deliver three online seminars. Each seminar will provide an overview of the grant program and what makes a strong application. Each session runs for two hours through Microsoft Teams.

All three seminars cover the same content, so choose whichever session suits you.

Each seminar covers:

  • What Round 5 is funding and who can apply
  • The application process and key dates
  • The selection criteria, with worked examples of strong responses
  • Where to get further help

Seminars are recorded. Recordings will be available via this page after each session, so you can watch later if you cannot attend.

Potential applicants can access one-on-one application support through Remote Strategy Plus. Before requesting a session, applicants must attend or watch an Application Support webinar. Requests for support can then be submitted using the Our Marine Parks Grants Round 5 Application Support Request Form.
