Pilot study on ghost net recycling pathways in Gulf of Carpentaria now complete
A pilot study exploring recycling pathways for ghost nets in the Gulf of Carpentaria is now complete.
The study investigates recycling pathways for ghost nets and other marine debris in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Torres Strait, through the identification of a supply chain, recycling technology and market pathway.
Options to facilitate the recycling of ghost nets and other marine debris in Northern Australia were identified in this study.
The Ghost Nets Initiative is considering opportunities identified through this research.
