On 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Information on websites maintained by Parks Australia will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the conclusion of the caretaker period.

Summary

This report summarises data from the 2022 Coral Sea Marine Park (CSMP) Clean-up, delivered by Tangaroa Blue Foundation as part of Our Marine Parks Grants - Round 3 program.

A total of 22 islands and cays that form part of Lihou Reef and the Diamond Islets (central CSMP) were visited in November 2022.

The crew consisted of Tangaroa Blue Foundation, GMYPPBC Rangers, Blue Planet Marine and a Parks Australia, over 21 days. 

For each of the 22 Islands and cays visited as part of the project, the volume, weight, number of items and types of items are provided and includes data on the number and type of Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) and echosounder buoys.
