On 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Information on websites maintained by Parks Australia will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the conclusion of the caretaker period.

We’ve recently collaborated with the Worimi People, artist Melissa Lilley and New South Wales Department of Primary Industries to celebrate important cultural connections with Sea Country near Port Stephens, including Hunter Marine Park.

We work to actively recognise, celebrate and protect cultural values in Australian Marine Parks. This includes working alongside Traditional Owners to better understand these values, map knowledge and deliver management programs and activities in partnership.
